Milan Filipović

Milan Filipović is a Director of Research at the Lawyers’ Committee for Human Rights – YUCOM, where he oversees the development of research, analysis, and publications in the fields of human rights and the rule of law. With over a decade of experience in the legal sector, Milan is recognized as an expert in access to justice, freedom of assembly and expression, judicial independence and accountability, and the protection of human rights defenders. He holds a degree in law from the University of Belgrade, specializing in international law.

After graduating, Milan spent two years as a trainee judge at the Criminal Court and First Basic Court in Belgrade. In December 2014, he joined the Lawyers’ Committee for Human Rights – YUCOM, where he led various projects addressing anti-discrimination, freedom of assembly, freedom of expression, media freedom, judicial reform, and anti-corruption efforts.

Milan is the author of numerous publications, reports, legal analyses, and critiques of draft laws related to human rights and the rule of law. He is fluent in English and has basic knowledge of German and Spanish.
