Program

As a trusted partner in human rights protection, YUCOM has stood out through over 25 years of dedicated work, successfully implementing more than 100 projects. These projects have significantly improved human rights and the rule of law in Serbia. YUCOM focuses on critical areas such as freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, protection from gender-based violence, free legal aid, combating hate speech and hate crimes, and protecting the rights of vulnerable groups. YUCOM remains committed to promoting the rule of law and enhancing Serbia’s judiciary’s independence, transparency, and accountability.

The Human Rights Protection Program focuses on safeguarding political and civil rights, including freedom of assembly, freedom of expression, combating discrimination, the right to a fair trial, and the right to a healthy environment. This program also provides free legal aid to ensure access to justice for those facing human rights violations. Through close collaboration with other civil society organizations, YUCOM contributes to creating an environment that empowers individuals to advocate for human rights protection successfully.

The Rule of Law and Democracy Program aims to strengthen democratic institutions and influence legislative and strategic framework changes to ensure the full enjoyment of human rights. This program focuses on communication and cooperation with judicial and independent institutions (such as the Ombudsman, Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, and Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection.
